Life is too short for boring stories

Inspired by Kieran Halpin „Where were you?“

Where are you?

If they stole her the baby right after birth

From the chest,

So that you can drink her milk

And she shouts out the pain of a mother,

Hour, daytime.

Are you so blind with greed,

So numb to self-interest.

Where are you?

When they collect the eggs,

And let them be incubated by a lamp,

Until the babies hatch,

In a cage, in which they are crowded,

Only to be exposed,

With cropped beaks and trimmed wings,

In a world,

From which they have no idea,

In which they can only perish.

Are you so blind with greed,

So numb to self-interest.

Where are you?

When they force the mother between bars,

Which press between the breasts,

Making her a feeding machine,

As they cut out the testicles,

And cut off the tails and ears,

Without stun the pain,

So that they can vegetate in an even narrower space,

That they taste you.

Are you so blind with greed,

So numb to self-interest.

Where are you?

When they gas or shred the millions,

When they drown or kill the kittens,

Because it is cheaper than to castrate,

When they throw the male babies on the trash,

Because they are not good,

When they lock the others into containers,

Without food for transportation over thousands of kilometers.

Are you so blind with greed,

So numb to self-interest.

Where are you?

When they chase our fellow-beings,

With hammers and electric shocks,

Into the slaughterhouse,

When they enter the gas chamber

And partly live in boiling hot water,

When stunned with the bolt gun

Or not,

Where the carcass is clean and bloodthirsty,

Hygienic and appetizing

Are you so blind with greed,

So numb to self-interest.

Where are you?

When they expropriate the land

And surrender millions to misery,

If they speculate with food,

And those who really need them,

These can no longer afford,

But we feed them cheaply to live meat machines,

When they destroy the earth with poisons,

And ultimately ourselves.

Are you so blind with greed,

So numb to self-interest.

Where are you?

But but,

You do not have to chase yourself.

This emotionality is only a hindrance to a constructive discussion.

Tear a little together,

Then we can talk about it in peace,

But so if you drive your ass in the face,

that will not do.

You can do what you think is right,

Vegan and so,

But let everyone live as he wants,

Because we let you finally.

Living and let living is the motto.

Well, well, maybe you’re right,

Then I go stop times and do my thing

And yours.

Live and let live.

No, damn it,

It is not.

I should not be emotional?

How shall I remain emotionless in face of suffering,

Which is ongoing?

How can I call myself human,

When I can turn off my emotions in the face of torture?

What am I then other than a monster?

In peace?

In every minute that passes,

Feeling, thinking beings are added to hell-fire.

And should I be quiet?

Living and let living is the motto?

Well then, let them live,

Give them a real life,

Which you also demand for you.

For Right.

And they too have the right,

If you did not mean in your grandeur,

You can arbitrarily deny living beings their lives,

Destroy their vital foundations.

No, damn it,

I will not give way.

As long as I have two healthy feet,

I shall enter,

For those to whom the most basic rights are denied.

As long as I have two healthy hands,

I will point out,

On the life-threatening conditions,

Which are expected of them.

As long as I have a mouth,

I’ll tell you about it

And demand that it change.

As long as I have eyes,

I will not close them,

Until every living creature gets the space,

Which requires a successful life.

As long as I hear,

It is the screams of the slaves,

The done and the undone,

Cries of those who are still struggling,

Silence of those who resign.

As long as I breathe,

I will feel obliged,

Because I can no longer deny,

Which I once saw.

As long as a heart beats in my breast,

It will ask me for the fight,

Which cannot defend themselves.

No, damn it,

I will not just go away and be quiet,

Because it is also my world,

Which tramples her.

It is also my money with that

Cheap meat and disposable milk,

Pillage and resource depletion,

Famine and homelessness,

Poisoning and deprivation

financed.

There are also my taxes,

Which are taken for

Colorectal cancer and osteoporosis, and arthrosis and cardiovascular disease

to heal,

Which you have previously eroded.

And I will say,

When the world is in ruins,

Because you destroy our own bases of life,

I was there.

Where are you?
